Downtown just got better. That’s because the Mon Wharf trail was officially dedicated this morning. It’s a 2017-foot-long walking and cycling path along the Monongahela River. In the near future it will be connected to both Point Park University and the Smithfield Street Bridge. Read more here.

Across the street from Franktuary there is a decrepit abandoned building that used to be a Revco. It sits just to the left of the entrance of the Oliver Parking Garage. Recently an “Intent to Demolish” notice was posted on the property. I have no idea what will happen post-razing, but here’s hoping a green space is created. A space with grass, benches, tables, and trees. A space that will be perfect for eating a Franktuary lunch outside. A space close enough to the shoppe that if you forget napkins or want seconds you’re hardly inconvenienced!

Whatever change is made, even if it’s not as I’ve proposed, is bound to be an improvement.
